Emacs Changed My Life

I discovered Emacs while taking a course on Applied Cryptography. I was new to Python and needed a place to write and execute code.

At first, the keybindings were off-putting. But I was able to quickly do my semester of Python coding. And as I learned more about Emacs, I used it for more purposes.

I experienced its lore, learned its history and reputation, and began falling into its stereotypes. I had to remap my Caps Lock key to avoid “Emacs Pinky,” and I spent a lot of time customizing my config and packages.

It has become an essential part of my workflows and life. My essential packages are kaolin-themes, magit, org, org-roam, and undo-tree.

This site’s content and source code are completely written in Emacs.
